About Us!
Foresight (North East Lincolnshire) Limited operates throughout North and North East Lincolnshire to meet the needs and requirements of older people, people with disabilities, and support their families and carers. We are also concerned with the economic and social regeneration in the wider community. Foresight is (and always has been) a user led organisation that responds to the identified needs of its service users and innovates services to meet those needs.
Foresight has experienced very substantial growth in the last twenty years and, since starting in 1999, it has developed from a group of dedicated and passionate volunteers to its current position as an employer of 18 paid staff and 80+ volunteers across 7 sites in the community
Watch our short film below which provides an insight on what our non-profit charity organisation does and its role in our community. We speak to the CEO and Founder of 'Foresight' as well as dedicated volunteers and our beneficiaries.
History of Foresight
From its inception 27 years ago, Foresight has grown from a group of enthusiastic volunteers with a mission to assist blind and partially sighted people to lead more fulfilled lives, into a well-respected mainstream support organisation addressing the varied and complex needs of a wide range of disabled clients.
Demand for the services of the organisation is such that Foresight outgrew out both its original and second home resulting in a move into new improved premises. Foresight have undertaken a range of capital projects to provide facilities and homes for its service users and has become adept at innovating solutions to the issues faced by those people.
During its phenomenal growth Foresight has benefited from the wide experience of its Trustees, who have supported the staff and volunteers in growing the business in a sustainable and measured way. Foresight works to improve the quality of life for its service users, building confidence and combating disadvantage. By the provision of new opportunities, raising awareness and partnership working we address the stigma and myths surrounding disability and break down barriers enabling individuals to lead a full and independent lifestyle.
