Foresight offers an introductory interview for new volunteers to come along and see exactly what Foresight is all about before they decide  if volunteering is for them. As a volunteer you have access to our free safeguarding training which is mandatory for all volunteers, employability training ran by CERT Training and free distance learning courses ran by the Grimsby Institute. Before a volunteer starts they will receive a full induction and a picture name badge.

Volunteering is not just about giving up personal time and supporting others it is also about gaining the necessary skills to build self-confidence and self-belief that many people are lacking, which they will need to enhance their job prospects and boost there CV. Volunteering is also about meeting other like-minded individuals and building a new network of skills and training.

Foresight has various ongoing projects, courses and activities inside the centre and a variety of sports and active recreation held at various centres throughout North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and surrounding areas so there is plenty for you to get invloved in!

Networking with other organisations is paramount to Foresights ongoing need for volunteers and as there is a wide range of people who are in need of the opportunity to progress their personal skills and wellbeing, Foresight is keen to support and promote their volunteers to succeed in acheiving their own personal goals.  Foresight has gained various partnerships with leading organisations such as the Job Centre Plus, CERT Training, North East Lincolnshire Council Employment Services, Duke of Edinburgh, NCS, Franklin College, Tollbar Academy, the Grimsby Institute, the Grimsby University Centre, MENCAP and Care Plus Employability Services and will continue to open doors to other organisations.

Befriending

The organisation also offers a befriending service for visually impaired people over the age of 18 Years and each befriending client needs a volunteer to support them. Foresight also runs a Talent Match programme and works with young volunteers from 16 Years to 25 Years who not only assist with the day to day courses and activities at the centre but also play an important role in the children's holiday's schemes that run throughtout the year. Foresight volunteers are the heart of our organisation and their support and commitment to the service user is undoubtebly first class.
